Rubberized, hard coat(paint) undercoatings will rust from the inside out, they are not recommended and will deteriorate your vehicle to the point of being dangerous, Rusted through frames, control arm mounting areas, floor panels and more are known to be destroyed using this type of undercoating, All while looking ok from the outside of the undercoating.
Oil and asphalt based undercoatings are better than rubberized or hard coats, however oil based coatings need semi or annual reapplication and are always wet to the touch making for messy maintenance. Asphalt is good and lasts for about 2+ years but is very messy when needing work done, if touched or rubbed against.
